Longing....

There are days like today that the longing in my heart and arms for another child become almost overwhelming… you would think that at the age of 40 I would be thinking of my empty nest.

Dreaming about the time I could spend with my hottie hubby all alone…day dreaming about sleeping in again and not having snotty boys, and cleaning up the mess around the toilet that little boys make…lol

But I am not… I long for more of that. Which is really rather ironic, because N has started his routine of acting out again. Seems a bit strange to me that the more he does that the more I want more children. Now do not get me wrong, I don’t want them to replace him!!!! I just seem to want them more… wonder if he senses that desire and it sets him off… (hhhmmm love blogging, sometimes I give myself things to think about.)

Today I was looking at pics from our mission trip in April and saw so many beautiful little faces that I fell in love with while there. Then got to go their family blogs and see so many of them home and happy and so very beautiful. I also saw the faces that are still waiting for a mom and dad to come get them and give them the love they deserve.

This waiting until January to even start the process is killing me… I thought that I would feel better knowing that at least we would be starting, but it’s almost made it worse.

So while I long for the children that are still waiting for us… I will go home and love on the ones that are already there.

Not As Calm As I Had Hoped....

So, over all it was a successful weekend. I got a good bit of cleaning done, I actually got to go to the Jeremy Camp concert, and we were able to get pumpkins and carve them.

We did have a bit of a wrinkle though. Hubby went to work on Saturday for a few hours, and while there thought it would be fun to attempt to remove his eye with a piece of metal. Ok all you OSHA peeps, yes he had been wearing his safety glasses...he was getting ready to leave for lunch and had taken them off. Someone had propped the metal up near his keys and wallet, he wasn't paying attention, and bent over into it.

He then calls me with the dreaded "Honey I am going to the emergency room".... sheesh who likes THOSE calls?

Now this happened on Saturday morning, cleaning day, so I had of course not showered, dressed, brushed my hair or even brushed my teeth...lol I mean who gets clean to clean? So I had to brush my hair and teeth (didn't want to kill him in the ER) and throw on clothes.

The HUGE praise is that while he's got some damage to the outter part of his eye, and the white part, the cornea was completely spared. The Dr showed me the glowy eye thing when he was checking D's eye (SO cool by the way!) and the cut was amazingly close! SO praising God today!

So the rest of the weekend ended up much more quiet afterwards. He wasn't able to go to the concert, so S and I went. It allowed D's mom to come over and take care of him, it makes her feel good. :) It was great... interesting... but great. :)

So here are some pics from the rest of the weekend....

our sweet doggies...

We played with trucks...

Crazy boys...
The boys drew their own faces...

ewwww pumpkin guts..
Creepy

This is P. He is S's friend from Kenya, he's never carved a pumpkin before, so she invited him over to help.

They did a good job :)
The finished products... not very scary...lol

Friday!!

It's Friday!!!

We have nothing significat planned... can you believe it? I know me neither!

My biggest plan for tomorrow is to clean my poorly negelected house. And then on Sunday get to the yard. We will be getting our pumpkins for carving, and costumes ready for next weekend.

Jeremy Camp is coming tomorrow night... SO wish I could head over to watch but we have no sitter, so I am letting D and S go with D's mom. It will be fun to hang with my boys for the night. Perhaps we do movies and popcorn and snuggle time. Sounds grand!

I have been working slowly on getting my VA Project Hopeful Blog together. I hope to share it with you soon! SO excited about the work being done and coming together. There are truly a wonderful group of on FIRE women working together to get these kids homes and love.

And speaking of which ...please pray for 3 in particular. God knows who they are... and how much my heart hurts for them... not more than His though. My heart has been so longing to get this next adoption started... I cannot WAIT until January!

Praying you all have a wonderful productive...or just plain blessed weekend.
